This summer, Battle will come alive with creativity as the Battle Festival Scarecrow Competition invites you to showcase what makes you, your shop, your business, or your school or community group wild about being in Battle.
Whether it’s good or bad, happy or sad – let your imagination run wild as you create a scarecrow that celebrates the heart and spirit of our town!

This competition is for everyone! It’s a fantastic opportunity to let your creativity and imagination run wild and have fun in the process.
We are wild with excitement to see your creations!
Saturday 12th July – Sunday 27th July
Open to all (incl. individuals, families, school and community groups, businesses)
Organised by Wild About Battle, in association with Battle Yarn Bombers.

Design and create: Your scarecrow should depict what makes you wild about Battle. Think about what you love, what excites you, or what makes you smile when you think of Battle.
Display: Your scarecrow will be displayed in various locations throughout Battle, from shops to community spaces.
Dates: The competition runs from 12-27 July 2025. Make sure your scarecrow is ready to go during this time!
Judging: Scarecrows will be judged on creativity, originality, and how well they reflect the theme "Wild About Battle", in the following four categories: Individual/Family; Junior Community Group; Adult Community Group; and Best Business. The winners of each category then have a chance to be Best in Show champion!
Judging day: Saturday, 12 July 2025
Prize Giving: Sunday 27 July, 2pm, Abbey Green, Battle.
