The Giufa Project – FREE performance
August 28, 2018

You’re warmly invited to join The Giufa Project for a performance of work created during the 10 day residency at Battle Abbey. This celebratory performance will start on the Abbey Green at 5.30pm and process through the gates and up to the Abbots Hall. The event is FREE and open to everyone.

The Giufa Project has seen 50 young people work with an International artistic team to explore ideas around the theme of migration. Over the 10 days they have been learning new skills and creating work collaboratively with our artists from a range of different disciplines including:

Omar Shahryar – Composer
Howard Moody – Composer
Judith Colman – Vocal Coach
Lucy Bradley – Director
Laura Fatini – Writer/Director/Movement
Alister O’Loughlin – Performance Parkour/Movement
Tim Corrigan – Visual Art
Annis Joslin – Artist/Filmmaker

The Giufà Project is a collaboration between artists, young people and creative organisations across Europe. It has been born from The Complete Freedom of Truth (TCFT), a youth programme created by Opera Circus which delivers cultural exchanges, residencies, skills development and leadership to a growing network of young people across Europe. This programme of work has been commissioned by Glyndebourne as part of the company’s ongoing work to introduce opera to a wider audience and supported by Battle Festival.

The final performance will take place at Battle Abbey as part of Battle Festival on 20 October
